Great performance for the money, May 23, 2011 This review is from: ASUS U43JC-B1 14-Inch Thin and Light Laptop (Bamboo) (Personal Computers) I bought this computer for its graphics abilities and speed. So far I am not dissappointed. I love the keyboard, speed, and the clarity of the monitor is really good. I am a prof artist and photographer.. and this is my new toy. I am still to test it out fully with a lot of high res images.. but after much research and not enough money for a Mac.. this is what I chose.
Love the bamboo look. It's sleek, lightweight, and very nice. Great deal for the money.

Amazing if you don't care about Webcam, March 12, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ASUS U43JC-B1 14-Inch Thin and Light Laptop (Bamboo) (Personal Computers) My only beef is that the 2.0mp is horrendous. You have to be in a well lit room to prevent lag. My previous 7 year old vaio tr1a with a VGA camera was smooth regardless of lighting. If webcam is not an issue for you, this laptop by far has great specs for the price. Would give it a 5 star if only the webcam has no lag.

I'm traveling abroad for 6 months and I wanted something portable, stylish, fast and dependable. The laptop is just an in-between sized one, not a net-book, and not quite a powerhouse supercomputer. Perfect. The bamboo styling is VERY impressive and looks great. Everyone compliments it and it really feels like you have a piece of art in addition to a solid computer. The computer's specs are great and it runs smoothly and efficiently. I especially like the various power modes available. The battery life is great and it has lasted me longer than I ever expected it to.
That all being said, I have 2 complaints. The web-cam is bad. The quality and speed of it are just terrible and at this time there are no replacement drivers to try and bump it up in speed. In addition, I find the track pad and clickers hard to use. The pad isn't particularly responsive and playing with the settings has had little positive effect. The buttons... Read more
